GETTING OUR BEARINGS BETTER IN CHRISTIAN STEWARDSHIP 2
Genesis 1:1; Psalm 24:1-2
The word Stewardship from the Christian point of view has to do with utilizing resources all to God’s glory. The focus is for the glory of God.
Our position or orientation as touching stewardship must be correct so that things will also be accurate with you as a person too.
Stewardship speaks about the sum total of one’s attitude; to time, money, talent etc. Everyone possesses their own unique attitudes to these things
Getting our bearings right or better requires that we go back to the Bible (the Bible contains all the answers)
To get our bearings right ultimately requires adequate understanding that God is the maker of all things, that nothing in heaven or on earth evolves by chance. Getting this understanding grants one an optimal perspective of one’s self.
A thankful attitude to God will ultimately arise after understanding that God is the creator of all things, in heaven or on earth.
God is the maker, therefore God is the owner (the rightful owner).
There is a misguided notion of ownership that we own everything and this further leads to diverse problems.
* Thinking that we own whatever we buy
* Thinking there is a correlation between hard work and ownership (that we own whatever results from our hard work
